Action Camera Pilot Program

Program Overiew
The action camera program will involve eight fishers in an initiative that will provide them with waterproof action cameras to record footage and pictures while visiting the reef. Participating fishers will be trained in the use of this equipment and will be expected to submit recorded footage and pictures along with their reports.  Upon comletion of the pilot project the particpating fishers will keep the action camera.

Program Objective
Involve fishers in documenting reef health by providing them an opportunity to submit  enhanced reports on reef health and visible outputs which can be interpreted by data handlers.

Program Incentive
Participating fishers will receive training in the use of the action cameras and will keep the action cameras once the pilot project has been completed.​

Selection Process of Fishers

• Ideally, fishers selected should operate in different fishing zones in order to have better distribution of the cameras and capture different areas of the reef.
• Candidates should have some knowledge of technology in order to form a part of the program.
• Outreach with the fishing cooperatives and associations to gather references for candidates that fit the criteria will also be conducted. 
• Since fisher contacts have been provided by some associations, direct outreach and assessment for participants will be conducted if necessary. ​
• The preferred method of selection will be by recommendation as this will increase the likelihood of engaging reliable and knowledgeable fishers.
